No one works harder than Kris Jenner — and Phoebe Gates and Sophia Kianni are ready to learn all her secrets to success.
On the latest episode of their new podcast The Burnouts, the friends and business partners began by telling Jenner why she’s a role model to them — namely, her confidence and agility in professional spaces.
“Obviously, we’re young women, we’re just starting our careers,” said Kianni, a 23-year-old climate activist who is also in the process of launching a startup with Gates, 22. Kianni went on to note that they both moved to New York City at a time where “everyone was talking about, ‘You need to go out and rizz.‘ ”
“Oh, charisma!” Jenner, 69, exclaimed.
“And I was like, ‘I have no idea how to do that,’ ” Kianni continued. “Like you need to have business rizz, apparently. And I think when we look at you, obviously, I would say you’re like the CEO of having business rizz. You’re the rizz master.”
Jenner was flattered — “I’m a rizz master, I like it,” she remarked — and said the key to having that confidence is being able to “leave your ego at the door” because if you don’t, you risk being paralyzed by fear.
To get past the initial anxiety and worry about being judged and perceived, Jenner instead focuses on how badly she wants to achieve that goal — which often matters more to her. From there, it’s about doing things that make you feel good and authentic to yourself.
Jenner also opened up about what she learned from her time as a flight attendant.
“Every single lesson that I learned that I really appreciate, I think I learned from that year and a half or two years of being a flight attendant,” she said.
When Jenner first “got my marching orders from American Airlines,” she recalled feeling disappointed. She had hoped to land on a route that included Los Angeles, but was told it would take “years to be able to build up that kind of seniority.”
“I was miserable,” she said. Then, she learned that there’s always “another way.”
“So I started talking to everybody I could about how can I get on these flights,” she continued. One day, she walked into the scheduling office and said, “‘Listen, I’ve got a problem. This is what I need and this is what I know you have the power to do. How can we meet in the middle? What can I do to accomplish this.’ ”
In response, she said she was told that she could get put on a substitute list – and she added that she also may have “walked into the scheduling room with brownies” once or twice. “It was one of the first things that I actually negotiated for myself,” she continued.

When it comes to Gates and Kianni, Jenner is confident — and in fact, she’s an investor and advisor for Phia, their yet-to-launch sustainable fashion platform.
“It was a no brainer,” Jenner said of the decision. “I love being able to be a part of your journey and your story. It’s exciting.”
