Kyle Busch’s widow Samantha shared a heartbreaking post about grief four months after the NASCAR star’s death.
In her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Sept. 29, Samantha answered a question about how her grief journey is going. “I feel like half of me is missing,” Samantha admitted as she began her answer.
“There’s an emptiness that follows me everywhere, and a constant ache for Kyle and the life we had together. I miss reaching for him, talking to him, laughing with him, or just having him beside me in the most ordinary moments like driving together, grabbing a quick bite, taking our nightly walk,” said Samantha, who shares son Brexton, 11, and daughter Lennix, 4 with Kyle, 41.
She explained that she keeps “going because I have to,” and said she tries to “be strong for the kids, to make their lives happy and full and give them the childhood they deserve.”
“But on the inside I feel completely shattered,” Samantha admitted.

The mother of two — who also recalled some of her favorite memories with Kyle on her Stories Tuesday, like the time they “were so cold” on an hours-long hike that they had to buy sweatshirts — said “the little things” like those moments are the toughest to handle.
“A song, a photo that pops up, reaching for my phone to tell Kyle something,” she wrote.
Samantha said her grief “can hit out of nowhere and completely take my breath away,” but she’s “learning how to carry that grief while still trying to live.”

In another Story on Tuesday, Samantha replied to a question about what she’s learned about herself amid grief. “There were a lot of things Kyle just handled,” she said.
“He was so meticulous and organized. Now that’s all on me, things I never had to even think about. I never felt like I was really independent because I always had him, but now my motto is I’ll figure it out.”
