A Love Island USA contestant has been dropped from the cast, just days ahead of the show's season 8 premiere.

Vasana Montgomery has been pulled from the cast after social media posts surfaced of her allegedly using the N-word, PEOPLE has confirmed.

Montgomery is a 25-year-old business owner from Beaverton, Ore.

She said in a promo video for the Peacock show that she is the "full package," and that her friends would "show you the world map" if they were asked about her "type."

Montgomery's removal from the show comes two days after the season 8 cast was announced.

The 11 new stars are: Aniya Harvey (from Tyrone, Ga., and daughter of retired NBA player Donnell Harvey), Beatriz Hatz (San Diego), Bryce Dettloff (Los Angeles), Gabriel Vasconcelos (Miami), KC Chandler (Fresno, Calif.), Kenzie Annis (Kennesaw, Ga.), Melanie Moreno (Los Angeles), Sean Reifel (Easton, Pa.), Sincere Rhea (Cape May, N.J.), Trinity Tatum (Newport News, Va.), and Zach Georgiou (Birmingham, England) — whose brother Charlie was on the show last year.

On Wednesday, May 27, a message was shared on the show's official Instagram account asking fans to be respectful as they watch the upcoming new season.

"The Villa runs on good vibes, and so does this community. We love seeing your reactions, opinions and debates, but everyone deserves to feel safe and respected," the statement said. "This is a space for fun, not negativity — so keep it king, keep it positive, and remember: this is LOVE Island!"

Ahead of the season 8 premiere, Madix, 40, shared her advice for the reality show's new contestants in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE.

"It sounds cliché, but be yourself because being yourself is what made the people who make the show fall in love with you, and that's what's gonna make the audience fall in love with you," she said.

Madix added, "It's what's gonna make the Islander that you have a crush on fall in love with you. Being authentic and vulnerable and showing yourself is really the best thing you can do in that situation."

Season 8 of Love Island USA premieres June 2 at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock.
