A man was arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a child allegedly taken from a shopping cart at Walmart, according to police.
Tulsa Police officers responded to a kidnapping report at the Walmart near 68th Street and Memorial Drive on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at around 5:08 p.m. local time, Tulsa Police said in a Facebook post. Marshall Dixon was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County Jail on suspicion of kidnapping.

“A woman said she was shopping at the store when a man came up to her, briefly talked about her two kids, and then took her 1-year-old child out of her shopping cart,” police said. “The man put the child in his own shopping cart and started walking away.”
The woman, who has not been publicly identified, told police she then confronted him and was able to take her child back. She proceeded to lock herself and her children in the store’s bathroom, where she called police. Walmart also removed the suspect from the premises and called authorities.

When police arrived, they found Dixon, 50, “sitting at a nearby bus stop,” police said. Asked about the reported abduction, he allegedly told officers, “Yeah, I did that.”
