A drunk man who threatened “you can’t stop a ‘dozer” before driving his father's bulldozer into a pub during what a judge described as a “revenge attack” has been sentenced to prison.
Daniel Morgan, 35, of Rhigos, Wales, was sentenced Thursday, May 14, to three years and four months in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving and criminal damage recklessly endangering life, according to the BBC and a South Wales Police press release.
The incident happened on Dec. 4, 2025, after Morgan had been drinking at The New Inn pub in the hamlet of Cefn Rhigos in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
The BBC reported that Morgan became angry over comments about the breakdown of his marriage before leaving the pub and sending threatening text messages to owner Christopher Common, including: “Be careful, you can’t stop a ‘dozer” and “it will be a drive thru.”
According to the outlet and South Wales Police, Morgan then went to his father’s farm and stole a bulldozer before driving it toward the pub. CCTV footage shown in court reportedly captured Morgan driving directly into his brother’s car as he left the farm, flipping the vehicle over.

Morgan’s father, Phillip Morgan, followed his son and warned staff and patrons at the pub to leave because “he couldn’t stop him,” the BBC reported.
As patrons evacuated, Morgan drove across the pavement and smashed the bulldozer into the pub’s porch, destroying outside walls and causing roughly £22,000 in damage, according to the outlet.
The BBC further reported that Morgan then drove toward the property where his estranged wife and children were staying. South Wales Police said a pickup truck and trailer were used in an attempt to block the road, but Morgan drove over the vehicles and continued on.
He was ultimately stopped after his father got into a digger and damaged the bulldozer’s cab enough to force it to stop, according to the BBC.
After Morgan’s arrest, per the outlet, authorities found he was “one and a half times over the legal [alcohol] limit for driving” and bleeding from his head and hands.
During sentencing at Merthyr Crown Court, Judge Celia Hughes described the incident as a “revenge attack” carried out with the “intention to cause criminal damage,” according to the BBC.
“You acted out of revenge,” Hughes said, per the outlet, adding that “considerable damage was caused.”
The judge also reportedly said Morgan had been abusing cocaine and drinking “about six pints a day” at the time of the offense, while noting he had since shown remorse and taken steps to address his substance abuse.
Detective Sgt. Jenna Herbert of South Wales Police called the incident “a thoughtless and targeted attack on a pub.”
“Morgan has caused substantive damage to both the pub and multiple vehicles,” Herbert said in the release. “It’s lucky that no one was seriously hurt in this incident.”
Morgan was also disqualified from driving for three years and three months, according to the BBC.
