An Ohio man was sentenced to nearly a decade in prison after he was found to have multiple images and videos of child sexual abuse in his possession, with victims as young as 2 months old.

Benjamin Naylor, 32, was sentenced to 7 to 9½ years in prison on Monday, Aug. 10, for child sex crimes, according to reports from the Cincinnati Enquirer, FOX19 Now and local CBS affiliate WKRC.

Naylor pleaded guilty to eight counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, and also pleaded guilty to one count of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in a state of nudity, according to FOX19 Now.

One investigator said Naylor had some “some of the absolute worst” images she had ever seen in her career.

Cincinnati Police Detective Mary Braun spoke to the courtroom about the images she and her team had found on his phone, saying, “I’ve been doing this kind of investigations for a long time … I’ve never seen chats like that,” the outlet reported.

She added, “I would defer to you, of course, for sentencing, but I just wanted you to know that it was some of the most disturbing content that my unit has come across.”

Prosecutors claimed Naylor specifically asked to see “children being molested,” and “specified toddlers” when asked what age group.

Naylor also said online that he wanted to “meet up with a perv dad and his boy for sex,” prosecutors said, according to the Enquirer.

Assistant Prosecutor Elyse Deters said at Naylor’s sentencing that the man “does not think child rape should be criminalized,” and instead “wants it legalized,” the Enquirer reported.

Naylor was arrested in December 2025, according to FOX19 Now.

He was working as a scheduler at the Christ Hospital Health and Aging Center when he was confronted that month by Predator Poachers, a group that had been posing as a teenager to communicate with him, the Enquirer reported.

During their investigation, Hamilton County detectives found multiple images and videos of child sexual abuse, among them a video of an infant between 2 or 3 months old, according to the outlet.

Naylor’s attorney, John O’Shea, asked that his client be sentenced to probation, arguing that he suffered a traumatic brain injury as a child and had developmental disabilities and autism, according to WKRC.

Naylor apologized in court on Monday, saying, “I just wanted to say how truly and deeply sorry I am for what I did. I’m not making any excuses.”

Judge Wende Cross said Naylor’s actions re-victimized the children involved in the videos and images he accessed.

“Every time that material is viewed, copied, or passed along, that child is victimized again,” Cross said.
