Maren Morris‘ son Hayes was very preoccupied this weekend — but not for the reason you might think.
The 6-year-old’s mom had a busy weekend that included a Friday, July 3 appearance on the Today show and attending Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding just a few hours later.
When Morris tried to share her experience at the star-studded nuptials with Hayes, however, he adorably revealed that his mind was elsewhere.
“Flew from NYC to LA back to NYC in a day and tried to describe my insane weekend to my 6-year-old son who respectfully doesn’t care about anything but Pokémon right now,” Morris wrote over a TikTok in which she can be seen wearing sunglasses and wrapped in a blanket on a private jet.
“I said to my son Hayes, ‘I went to my friend’s really cool wedding this weekend.’,” Morris said while the conversation in a follow-up TikTok. “And he said, ‘That’s really cool, Mom. Did you know what Pokémon can mega-evolve?’ or something. I love him.”

Morris, who shares her son with ex-husband Ryan Hurd, attended Swift and Kelce’s wedding with a big group of country music artists and their partners.
In addition to sharing photos with Kelsea Ballerini on Instagram, Morris was seen on Miranda Lambert‘s Instagram Stories, which included appearances from Ballerini, Lambert’s husband Brendan McLoughlin, Sugarland‘s Kristian Bush, Little Big Town‘s Kimberly Schlapman and husband Stephen Schlapman,
Little Big Town married bandmates Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook were also featured in the photos, along with the band’s Phillip Sweet and wife Rebecca Arthur.

It’s no surprise that Morris wanted to rave about Swift and Kelce’s wedding, as an insider told PEOPLE it included performances by Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks, along with an extensive guest list of famous friends and colleagues.
Another source told PEOPLE that Swift and Kelce were “beaming” all night.
“A huge smile never left either of their faces,” said the insider, noting that the “fun” ambiance included “so many games,” a raffle and other “added excitement.”

“The whole evening felt very guest-centric,” said the source. “There was always something to do, see or play. There was never a dull moment.”
