Marie Osmond’s youngest son is married.
The former Donny & Marie host, 66, announced her son Matthew’s marriage to his wife, Kaitlynn, on Instagram on Sunday, Sept. 13. The couple said “I do” on Tuesday, Sept. 8, in Lindon, Utah, per their wedding registry.
“I’m on a fun trip with my sweetheart, and we decided to take some time just for us after a very busy month,” Osmond wrote alongside a selfie with her husband, Stephen “Steve” Craig, a video of the newlyweds kissing, and a photo of a decorative wedding sign.
The proud mother of eight continued, “So much going on, but the highlight was that our son Matthew was just married to his sweetheart, Kaitlynn, on the 8th. It was such a beautiful wedding!”
Osmond and Craig — whom she first married in 1982, divorced in 1985 and later remarried in 2011 — share son Stephen Jr., 43. She and ex-husband Brian Blosil — whom she married in 1986 and divorced in 2007 — share seven kids: Jessica, 38, Rachael, 37, Brandon, 29, Brianna, 28, Matthew, 27, Abigail, 24, and Michael, who died by suicide at age 18 in February 2010.
Osmond continued to describe Matthew’s nuptials in her weekly Sunday Message.
“Having a wedding is one of my favorite things in the world,” she wrote. “Now that my son has found his perfect match, it’s all the sweeter.”

She explained that she found “special photos of Matthew growing up for his wedding,” but joked that they were “stupid-hard to find” and took her “two nights” because hard drives live up to their name. Despite the difficulty, she’s “grateful” to have found the childhood photos of Matthew and his siblings because they “brought back so many beautiful memories.”
“And the great blessing God gave me to be their mom,” Osmond added.
Osmond admitted in her blog that her wedding responsibilities were “overwhelming” at times, which included “finding places for [her] very large family to stay” and “helping everyone decide what to wear.” She wrote, “Handling all details with the least amount of carnage is the goal, and showing the most amount of grace possible is the illusion!”
The mother of the groom kept calm by remembering to do three things: to stop and breathe, empty her head, and choose one small thing.

“You are not failing because you feel overwhelmed. You are simply trying to carry everything at once. Put it down, breathe, and pick up one thing at a time,” she explained. “Lastly, look for a blessing.”
Osmond first introduced her new daughter-in-law, Kaitlynn, to fans in August by posting a photo with her from Kaitlynn’s bridal shower.
“I’d like you all to meet Kaitlynn; she’s absolutely adorable, and she’s my son Matthew’s fiancée! We couldn’t love her more!!!♥️,” the singer and philanthropist wrote on Instagram on Aug. 9. “I know many of you met Matthew when he was on the road with me, and I thought you’d like to know. He’s such a wonderful man, and I’m so happy for them☺️.”
