  • Now, Zac and Dylan have a close bond with their younger brother and sister

Fans of Zac Efron love to see his sweet bond with siblings Dylan, Olivia and Henry.

After the Emmy award-winning actor’s parents, Starla Baskett and David Efron, welcomed him in October 1987, his younger brother, Dylan, was born in February 1992. The couple divorced in 2016, and David later remarried, welcoming Olivia and Henry with his new wife.

Zac has always been close with his siblings, often posting photos with them on Instagram. He has also spoken about living with Dylan and how their bond prepared him for 2023’s The Iron Claw.

“I’m a big brother myself, I love him to death, there’s a certain kind of relationship — it’s just a brother bond,” he told Entertainment Tonight of how his own brotherhood with Dylan informed his role, in which he played the eldest of five brothers.

Now, Dylan is competing on season 34 of Dancing with the Stars and will honor his siblings on “Dedication Night.” He will dance to Zac and Zendaya’s duet “Rewrite the Stars” from The Greatest Showman and dedicate the performance to Olivia.

From living with Zac to going on adventures with him, here’s everything to know about Zac Efron’s siblings: Dylan, Olivia and Henry.

Dylan Efron, 33

Zac’s little brother Dylan was born on Feb. 6, 1992, and the two have been inseparable since. The brothers both frequently post about hanging out with each other on social media, including going boating and playing golf together.

In a 2021 interview with BroBible, Dylan said that he and Zac “were always fighting with each other” when they were kids, and he described them as “so different.”

“[T]hen once I graduated college, Zac really took me under his wing and let me live with him when I got my first job in Los Angeles,” Dylan said. “He really became that older brother, and that’s when I would say we grew closer than ever. Our relationship was something that developed more as we both became adults and stopped fighting so much.”

Now, Dylan is a YouTuber and social media influencer focusing on travel and outdoor adventures.

“From a young age, my passions have always been fitness and being outside,” Dylan told BroBible. “Not necessarily working out, but just exhausting yourself in whatever it is. That’s what we did for fun growing up. We didn’t have Six Flags or any big concerts to go to in my hometown, it was all about using what was available to us, which was the ocean or the mountains.”

Before making a career of being in front of the camera himself, Dylan worked as a producer, including on Zac’s docuseries Down to Earth with Zac Efron, which ran for two seasons beginning in 2020. He also popped up on a few episodes of Down to Earth alongside his older brother, and was an associate producer for the 2020 documentary By Hand.

That wasn’t the only time Zac and Dylan filmed a project together. In 2019, they posted a YouTube video series called “Off the Grid” that showed them skiing and spending time in the desert, among other adventures.

Now, Dylan has continued his career in front of the camera after winning The Traitors season 3. Ahead of the season’s release, Zac said he had “a good feeling” that Dylan would come out on top.

“He is just the best at games,” Zac told Entertainment Tonight in June 2024. “Growing up, he was a first roll [at Yahtzee] kind of dude. If I was him, I would move to Vegas and just play games. He’s that good, so I got high hopes for him.”

Though he may have a burgeoning career of his own, Dylan still prioritizes family — and has been open about how his big brother has inspired him.

“I know exactly the type of big brother I want to be for Olivia and Henry because you were that brother to me,” he wrote in a sweet Instagram tribute for Zac’s birthday in October 2023.

Olivia Efron, 5

Zac’s only sister, Olivia, was born to David and his wife on Dec. 25, 2019. Since then, the little girl has stolen Zac and Dylan’s hearts as they frequently post with her on their Instagrams. Zac introduced Olivia on Instagram in July 2021, calling her his “little heartbreaker.”

For Valentine’s Day in 2023, Zac celebrated the day with a special someone: his sister. “My valentine,” he wrote under an Instagram photo of him reading to her.

A year later, Zac ushered in the first day of spring with Dylan and Olivia, posting a video on Instagram of the two swinging her in the air as they enjoyed some beach waves.

Though they both may be close to her, Dylan and Zac have a friendly rivalry about who Olivia prefers. In August 2023, Dylan posted a video montage on Instagram that showed Olivia talking about how much she loves him. Her reasons included Dylan being “so strong to pick me up” and being able to hold her upside down.

Dylan wrote in the caption, “Sorry Zac, I’m winning ❤️.”

In October 2025, Dylan upped the ante for the competition of favorite brother by dedicating a performance to her on Dancing with the Stars.

“Please welcome the newest member of Team DaDy, my lil sister Olivia,” he wrote in an Instagram post alongside photos of her backstage during rehearsals. “She’s quickly become 2nd best dancer on the team and by far the cutest.”

Henry Efron

Zac’s youngest sibling, Henry, was born sometime after Olivia, though it is unclear when. As the baby of the family, he’s beloved by his older siblings, who enjoy spending time with him.

In June 2023, Zac shared an Instagram photo showing himself holding Olivia and Henry at a circus. He also posted about their outing on his Instagram Stories, showing that David joined them for the event.

Both Olivia and Henry seem to look up to Zac. After The Iron Claw came out in December 2023, Dylan posted a video of Olivia and Henry play-wrestling him, seemingly inspired by their older brother’s character.

“Watches one wrestling movie…,” Dylan wrote in the caption of the Instagram video.

Two months later, Dylan shared another Instagram clip of himself spending quality time with his siblings, taking Henry and Olivia for a hike where they rode on his shoulders.
