Michael Strahan is reminiscing on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding day.
The television host, 54, was among the extensive list of celebrities spotted at Swift and Kelce’s nuptials at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday, July 3. He fondly looked back on the big day during Good Morning America on Monday, July 6.
While sitting next to Strahan, co-host Robin Roberts, who also attended the wedding, said the experience was “nice.” Despite the massive guest list, the ceremony still felt intimate because of the couple’s strict no-phones policy, which Roberts, 65, said allowed guests to be “actually in the moment.”
Strahan agreed, sharing, “It was a lot of people, but if you ever want to feel what real love is, you felt it in that room.”

“It was really, really special,” he continued, with Roberts adding, “A real love story.”
Just hours after Swift and Kelce, both 36, tied the knot, Strahan and Roberts, alongside fellow GMA host George Stephanopoulos, revealed on the talk show that the couple “wrote their own vows” and kept them in “little books.”
“It really was intimate,” Roberts said on Saturday, July 4, later adding, “They had their neighbors, their high school friends. It was like any wedding that you would attend.”
“It was their dream wedding, and it really was amazing,” Strahan emphasized. “Congratulations to both of them.”

Stephanopoulos, 65, said that the couple transformed MSG into a garden of its own.
“[It was] as intimate as it could possibly be given that it was Madison Square Garden,” he revealed. “Really this garden inside the Garden. Just so beautiful. It’s hard to imagine that a place that big and a wedding with such stars could feel so personal and so intimate.”
Moments after Swift and Kelce were declared husband and wife, the jumbotrons outside the iconic arena displayed the happy news: “JUST&T MARRIED!”
A rep for Swift confirmed the couple said “I do.”
An insider told PEOPLE that the “Opalite” singer and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end had various spaces of the iconic arena transformed for the momentous occasion.
“It looked like a forest,” the insider told PEOPLE exclusively of the decor, which included ferns and trees, with the arena seats covered in white.

During the ceremony, which was officiated by Adam Sandler, “Taylor walked down the aisle to a stage where they said ‘I do,’ “ said the source, who added, “their vows were about 20 minutes each,” and Swift and Kelce read them from gold books. The pair also provided guests with embroidered handkerchiefs for any emotional moments throughout the evening.
“After the ceremony, Taylor’s mom [Andrea] invited everyone into the reception room where a stage was set up,” added the source, who said Paul McCartney performed The Beatles’ beloved hit “I Want to Hold Your Hand.” Stevie Nicks was also on the lineup of A-list performers.
At the reception, guests noshed on bites from food stations with Italian cuisine, sushi and passed trays, and “there were bars everywhere,” said the source, who noted that despite the size of the venue, “It was very crowded.”
Swift’s brother, Austin, served as her “man of honor,” while Kelce’s brother, Jason, served as his best man. The two men were the only members of the wedding party, per Swift’s rep.
