Mike White is sharing his thoughts on becoming an “internet thirst trap.”
On Thursday, March 19, the White Lotus creator made an appearance on CBS Mornings, where he discussed his shocking elimination from Survivor’s milestone 50th season.
However, Nate Burleson couldn’t miss the opportunity to point out that White’s physique during his time on the show. The host asked for tips on how the 55-year-old was able to get his “supreme body.”
“I don’t know,” he replied with a laugh. “I mean honestly, this sounds — no one is going to be crying for me — but the White Lotus shoots are actually very draining and I’ve learned I have to prepare for those shoots kind of like an athlete would prepare for some event or something.”

White said he has to stay in shape because the show takes a lot out of him physically. So, in the last couple years, the director has tried working out before filming.
“It’s been amazing for me personally,” he boasted. “But yeah it was fun to go on and become an internet thirst trap. It’s funny how you get in shape, people are nice to you on the internet!”

White previously appeared on the David vs. Goliath–themed 37th season of Survivor, finishing as the runner-up. This year he returned for the all-star 50th season and his fellow contestants immediately noticed his toned physique when they saw him shirtless on the beach in Fiji. Jonathan Young, who originally competed on season 42, said, “Dude, you look great!”
“This guy’s got abs!” added Kamilla Karthigesu from season 48.
White blushed and told the group, “I’ve been waiting for this moment for months!”
“Let’s not gloss over the fact that Mike White has like a bulging six-pack,” said Survivor 46’s Charlie Davis. “I guess he’s ripped now."
White was ultimately eliminated during the March 18 episode by his Vatu tribe members in a shocking blindside.
