Ransom Riggs’ beloved novel Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children will get a special deluxe edition this year for its 15th anniversary, PEOPLE can exclusively reveal.
Riggs’ 2011 novel launched his young adult, multi-genre series about a teenager discovers an orphanage for children with supernatural powers on the fictional Welsh island of Cairnholm.

The series comprises six books, featuring found and vernacular photography: Hollow City (2014), Library of Souls (2015), A Map of Days (2018), The Conference of the Birds (2020) and The Desolations of the Devil’s Acre (2022). Miss Peregrine’s was also adapted into a 2016 film directed by Tim Burton.
The new deluxe edition from Quirk Books features a new package designed by Riggs and Doogie Horner, the book’s original designer.
Per a statement shared with PEOPLE, the cover was designed to emulate the Victorian setting central to the novel, and includes a premium slipcase, a gold foil-stamped cover with character portraits and illustrated endpapers.

In a new afterword, Riggs will explain how he pulled from his own childhood to write the book. He will also share images he came across during the writing process.
“The photos have never looked better, and the book is a joy to hold in your hand,” the author continues. “Quirk and Doogie have outdone themselves.”
