A mother who died alongside her three children in a car crash in Kansas last week is being remembered as a "devoted mom who always put her kids first."

Kansas Highway Patrol said in a crash report that two adults and three children died in a two-car crash on the state's K-156 Highway in Hodgeman County on Thursday, April 2, after a 48-year-old man overcorrected when his truck’s passenger-side tires left the road and accidentally "rotated into" another car carrying four people in the oncoming lane.

The driver of the oncoming car was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, and the three passengers died. The other driver was also pronounced dead following the crash, according to the Wichita Eagle and KAKE.

Trooper Anthony Calderon with the Kansas Highway Patrol confirmed to KAKE that no one involved in the crash was properly restrained.

A GoFundMe page later identified three of the people who died as 29-year-old Brianna-Mae Kaufmann and her children: 7-year-old Ryder, 5-year-old RyKer, and 3-year-old RaLeah-Mae.

"Brianna was a force of nature, unforgettable to all who knew her," an obituary states. "She touched countless lives with her presence and her genuine, free spirit. She had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcome, and her wild, carefree soul left a lasting impression on everyone she met."

Kaufmann, a food service industry worker, was close with her family and often assisted her father with his electrical business alongside her brother and sister.

"Above all else, Brianna loved her children with everything she had," the obituary continues. "She was devoted to them in every sense and was always ready for an adventure when they were involved."

Her love for her kids was described as "deep and unwavering," and she "poured her heart into being a mother."

Kaufmann's three children were also remembered as loving children who "were the best of friends."

"They lived life loudly, singing their favorite songs at the top of their lungs as they danced around," the obituary reads. "…They loved their time spent with their brother Ryan and all of their cousins also. Family vacations always meant swimming, fishing, kayaking or anything in the water."

"They absolutely loved their walks and adventures with mommy and daddy which could be anything from being in the Sahara desert to the Amazon Jungle, yet never having to leave Kansas to get there," the description continues.

The driver of the other vehicle was identified as 45-year-old Adam Edwards, according to the outlets. He leaves behind a wife and three children, ages 12, 9 and 4, according to another GoFundMe.

His wife wrote in the fundraiser that he was an "incredible man" who was "happiest with all of his kids around him and loved them dearly."

"Adam and I had so many wonderful years together, but the time was not long enough. We had big plans for our future and our family and were working hard to make our dreams a reality," the GoFundMe states.
