My $15 White Target Sneakers Look Just Like Keds but Are More Comfy — and I’ve Worn Them Non-Stop for 2+ Years

I’m a creature of habit, so once I find shoes I love, I reach for them over and over again. For the past two years, that pair has been my $15 Universal Thread white sneakers from Target.

I initially bought the shoes because of their resemblance to the classic, canvas Keds that are triple the price. After wearing the Target pair non-stop for more than two years, not only have they paid for themselves (and more), but I’d argue they’re even better than the pricier version.

The sneakers have a 100 percent white cotton outer that is ultra-breathable and has a slight stretch, making them perfect for warm days. The soft cotton also covers the edges of the shoes and prevents them from feeling rough, so they’ve never caused blisters on my feet. The footbed is supportive and firm yet comfortable, plus the bottom gives me plenty of traction on all types of surfaces and stops me from slipping. I’ve worn them to farmers markets, on neighborhood walks, and during day trips without ever experiencing aching feet.

While I love the comfort features, I’ll be honest: The sneakers’ design is what initially caught my attention. They’re almost identical to classic Keds thanks to their all-white laces, textured outsole, and low-top design. And they’re equally as versatile. I’ve worn them with dresses, skirts, shorts, and jeans, and no matter what outfit I choose, they easily coordinate with it. Plus, I can easily swap out the laces for a colorful pair and add a pop of color that matches my look.

They’re also among the most durable shoes I’ve ever owned. I’ve worn them near-daily for over two years, and when they inevitably get dirty, I just toss them in the washing machine, let them air dry, and they look as good as new. While they do have a bit of wear on the outer edges from my gait, it’s hardly noticeable.

I’m not the only person who loves the sneakers. Multiple shoppers said they’re “just as good as Keds” but are a fraction of the cost, noting that they “can be worn for hours.” In fact, one reviewer who often gets blisters on their heels said these have never given them a problem. They’re also versatile, with one customer calling them their “most valuable staple” and another saying they “go with anything.”

If you’ve been looking for white sneakers that are comfortable and affordable, the Universal Thread Lunea are hard to beat. Keep scrolling, though, to see even more pairs we found at Target.
