“Want to thank our recovery communities & the fans who stood by & were so supportive. Aiming to keep the journey somehow private, but look forward to sharing my experience, strength & hope as makes sense,” Lyonne continued. “My heart is with everyone ever going through it.”
The Orange Is the New Black alum has been open about the work she’s doing in her personal life, including sharing that she experienced a relapse in January.
“Took my relapse public more to come,” she wrote in a series of since-deleted tweets posted to the platform on Jan. 23.
“Recovery is a lifelong process. Anyone out there struggling, remember you’re not alone," Lyonne added. Grateful for love & smart feet.”
As her updates continued, the Russian Doll star cited hockey player Sophie “Bambo” Braverman as one of her driving forces, as Lyonne wrote and is set to direct the biopic. Deadline previously reported that the project was set to begin production this summer.

"I'll be honest. It's the worst decision I ever made," Lyonne said at the NBC Universal Emmys Kick-Off Luncheon in April 2023. "Of course, my true and deep hope is that the technology will get there such that I'm able to smoke again consequence-free since it's one of the great loves of my life."
Referring to herself "as a destructive person,” Lyonne told PEOPLE that by quitting smoking, she was “signing up for life completely."
"Like, it was the final gap between me sort of saying I'm gonna be a participating member of society and really going all the way in,” she said. “And I think a lot of it has to do with, like, I just feel like, you know, I still wanna write and direct movies. I still wanna get to make more seasons of Poker Face. I wanna get to have more life. And I think I was genuinely just scared by, like, the reality of it."
