  • Jessi previously alleged emotional abuse during their marriage
  • In 2025, the couple announced their decision to separate, but seemingly reconciled later that year

Jordan Ngatikaura has filed for divorce from Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jessi Ngatikaura.

PEOPLE can confirm that Jordan filed for divorce on Thursday, March 19. The TV personality issued a statement, saying, "This has not been an easy decision and it comes with a heavy heart."

"I’m grateful for the shared memories and the lessons," he said. "While our paths are now moving in different directions, my priority remains my children and ensuring they feel loved, supported, and protected through this transition. I am committed to handling this next chapter with kindness and respect."

He concluded his statement by asking for privacy and understanding as their family navigates the situation.

The divorce announcement comes days after Jessi spoke to PEOPLE about the status of her and Jordan's relationship a year after their separation.

She claimed in a November conversation with PEOPLE that she had received “emotional abuse” from her husband and that the pair agreed to a 90-day separation, working on their relationship in therapy. Prior to Jessi's statement, Jordan issued a statement to PEOPLE, saying, “I take full accountability for the pain I caused Jessi during our marriage.”

In the March interview with PEOPLE, she said that she and Jordan are still “going to a lot of therapy” — both individually and as a couple — to work through their marital issues. “We've been doing that for about a year now since the separation happened, and it's helped a lot,” continues the reality TV star. “It's taught us both a lot about how we are as individuals and how we are in a relationship, and it's just kind of still a work in progress.”

Jessi also said that it’s perfectly “normal” for marriages to have rough patches and that she finds fulfillment in sharing that with viewers of the show. “I just wanted to share that because I know marriage is hard, relationships are hard, and it's normal to struggle."

“Even in a good relationship, you're gonna have ups and downs. So I just think it's good to show people that it's worth fighting for, it's worth working through and it's something that's always a work in progress," she said.

PEOPLE reached out to Jessi Ngatikaura's representatives for comment.
