Noah Wyle is revealing his surprising “happy place” to retreat to when he needs a break from the spotlight.

The Pitt actor, 54, recently caught up with PEOPLE exclusively during his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on April 9. During the conversation, the actor shared that rolling up his sleeves and working on the series is actually his chosen antidote for mayhem.

“My happy place is at Warner Brothers,” he said, referring to the iconic Burbank, Calif., lot where the medical drama is shot on soundstages.

“I was there this morning, I'm going to go back over there this afternoon. To me, that is like getting away with something still. That's where I decompress,” he explained.

Wyle is no stranger to the WB lot: ER, the hit NBC medical drama that first catapulted him to fame in 1994, also filmed there for the duration of its run.

Wyle was a series regular on the show, playing Dr. John Carter for 11 seasons. He returned for one last story arc in the show's final season in 2009.

The Librarian star acknowledged his 30-year relationship with the studio while addressing the crowd — which was filled with family, loved ones and colleagues — during the April Walk of Fame ceremony.

“I will begin with everyone that is here from my creative family and Warner Television,” Wyle began.

“Our longstanding relationship has been the most creative and fruitful of my life, and I am beyond excited when I think about the wonderful collaborations still to come,” he added.

As for whether Wyle, who in addition to starring in The Pitt also serves as a writer, director and executive producer for the series, was able to take in the magnitude of the special industry honor?

“I've been told — warned, cautioned and ordered — to take this day in and really enjoy it and recognize how singular this moment is, [and] to not let it go by not being present. So I'm trying,” he said while speaking to PEOPLE.

This year, Wyle achieved a historic sweep by winning all five major television acting awards in a single season, including an Emmy, a Golden Globe, a Critics Choice Award and an Actor Award, for his performance as Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch on the HBO drama.
