NEED TO KNOW

  • Olivia Culpo says she has “no regrets” about the viral hospital bag video that sparked debate before the birth of her first child
  • The model tells PEOPLE exclusively that she still plans to bring some of the same comfort items when welcoming baby No. 2, while discussing her Samsonite collaboration
  • Culpo also shares the travel and organization hacks she now relies on as a mom, including packing cubes, ChatGPT and “hazardous waste” diaper bags

Olivia Culpo has no regrets about the viral hospital bag that sparked debate online before the birth of her first child, Colette.

“People either loved it or hated it because it was so thorough, but I honestly used everything in it,” Culpo, 34, tells PEOPLE exclusively, while discussing her collaboration with Samsonite, the eight-piece Chocolate Mauve Collection. “There are a few things I wanna bring again.”

The model and former Miss Universe, who recently announced she is expecting her second baby with husband Christian McCaffrey, 29, reflected on how her approach to travel and packing has evolved since becoming a mom.

Culpo says she turns to social media and ChatGPT for travel hacks and packing advice as a mom. “I always ask, ‘Am I forgetting anything?’” she says. “I always make a really thorough packing list. I'm sure you saw my hospital bag maybe. That was very extreme.”

Culpo, who welcomed daughter Colette Annalise McCaffrey in July 2025, previously went viral on TikTok after sharing the extensive list of items she packed for the hospital before giving birth for the first time.

The video, posted July 10, 2025, sparked debate among viewers over some of her more luxurious essentials, including “extra fluffy” comforters, flameless flickering candles and even a photo of her dog.

At the time, Culpo defended the now-famous packing choices after receiving criticism online.

“I got roasted a little for what I packed — but I ended up using it ALL,” she wrote in a since-expired Instagram Stories post shared days after Colette’s birth. “When you're recovering from a C-section and stuck in the hospital for 3-4+ days, having your creature comforts is no joke.”

Looking back now, Culpo says being over-prepared simply comes naturally to her. “I always say there's the friend that doesn't bring anything, [and] the friend that brings everything for everyone else,” she tells PEOPLE. “I'm the person that always has what the other people forgot.”

The influencer and content creator says organization has become even more important while traveling with a baby.

“My number one hack for traveling in general with a newborn or not is having a roller carry-on plus a duffel,” Culpo, whose Samsonite collection includes both, tells PEOPLE. “That way you're not having to carry something heavy on your shoulder. You can just roll everything together. It's much more streamlined and that way you can carry a baby if you have to.”

Culpo’s latest pregnancy announcement comes six months after becoming a first-time mom.

“I did not think that this was going to happen the way that it did,” Culpo said in a May 21 TikTok discussing the pregnancy. “I am so fortunate to be able to bring another child into the world.”

The model also candidly shared some of her fears surrounding the pregnancy after previously undergoing a C-section.

“In the beginning, I was like, ‘Oh, my god, can I even do this? Is this allowed? Like, what's gonna happen?’” she said in the video.

Still, Culpo said motherhood has shifted her priorities in ways she never expected.

“And I would choose my baby 10 times over, obviously,” she previously said while discussing balancing work and motherhood on an episode of The Squeeze podcast.
