When it comes to Olivia Munn's perfect day, she is enjoying everything that family life has to offer.
Munn, 45, spoke exclusively with PEOPLE about what her day-to-day is like with her husband John Mulaney and their two kids at the Your Friends & Neighbors press junket on Tuesday, March 24.
"John and I and our two kids hung out at the house all day, and hung in the yard, and went to the beach, and we just did every single thing together," she described.
"And you can see how much our children need to just be our little family together, and have both parents there at the same time, and going through the mess together, and making all of the meals and everything that you have to do in a day," the mom of two continued. "We just all do it, just the immediate family."
The Newsroom actress explained that it's the best when they're "just hanging out and having fun," especially when they get to spend time outside with their kids.
"And we've got a sprinkler the other day, it's been so hot, and it was like an old school sprinkler from when we were kids, and we just put it on the grass, and that was like two hours of playtime outside," Munn said. "It's just the simplest things that we do with our kids that make it the best day."

Munn and Mulaney, 43, were first spotted together in June 2021. The two welcomed their son Malcolm Hiệp five months later, but were still in the early stages of their relationship.
They later tied the knot in July 2024 with an intimate ceremony in New York. Sam Waterston officiated their nuptials.
She shared in a November 2024 interview with GQ that she “barely knew” Mulaney when she became pregnant with their first child. "It wasn't necessarily, 'We're going to be married and live together' or any of that, but it was 'I'll be involved in some way,' ” she said.

Munn was also diagnosed with breast cancer and revealed the news in March 2024. Tests revealed she had luminal B, a fast-moving, aggressive cancer, in both breasts. She underwent five surgeries in total, including a double mastectomy.
During that time, she leaned on Mulaney and Malcolm. She told PEOPLE that going through her treatment without her husband "would've felt like climbing an iceberg."
“I don’t think he had a moment to himself, between being an incredibly hands-on father and going to and from the hospital — taking Malcolm to the park, putting him [down] to nap, driving to Cedars-Sinai, hanging out with me, going home, putting Malcolm to bed, coming back to me,” she added. “And he did it all happily.”
Still, Munn struggled with other aspects of trying to parent with breast cancer.
"Malcolm runs up and he said, 'Mama, pick [me] up?' " she recalled to PEOPLE about a moment after her double mastectomy surgery. “And I said, 'Oh, I can't pick you up.' And I squatted down to give him a hug, and then he just sat on my leg and goes, 'But Mama, pick [me] up!' That was probably one of the hardest things because all you want to do is pick up your baby."
In September 2024, Munn and Mulaney welcomed their second child together, daughter Méi June, via gestational surrogate.

“I love the writing. The first season — when I read the script — everything was so intertwined. It all kind of came back together, and I really enjoyed the mystery of that, and I was really intrigued to play a character who has so many conflicting feelings at once,” she told PEOPLE about the show.
New episodes of Your Friends & Neighbors are available to stream exclusively on Apple TV.
