Most people reach for breezy linen clothing during the summer months, but Olivia Wilde and Zendaya are convincing us to make room for silk, too.
Both women recently sported midi-length silk skirts finished with romantic lace trim. Wilde styled hers with a sheer, oversized white button-down and black loafers, while Zendaya paired a similar skirt with a graphic tee and loafers of her own. While Wilde’s skirt is longer, falling to her mid-calf, Quince’s version is still midi-length, hitting just below the knee on a 5-foot-11 model. More importantly, it captures the floral-inspired lace hem and elegant, buttery fabric. Made from ultra-soft mulberry silk, the skirt has a smooth satin (but not shiny) finish, and despite the delicate fabric, it’s machine-washable. Plus, an elastic waistband adds comfort, while the fabric drapes over the body without clinging and gently flares at the mid-thigh into a subtle A-line silhouette.
What we love most, though, is how versatile it is. Because of the material and hemline, it’s simple to dress up with a pair of heels and a blouse, but it looks just as stylish paired with sneakers and a tank top. And while it’s an ideal summer staple, we definitely see this as a multi-season piece that would pair well with an oversized sweater and boots.
