Baby brand Evenflo has voluntarily recalled one of its car seat models due to possible safety issues.
The company recalled 59,661 REO car seats by Revolve360 because they do not comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 213, “Child Restraint Systems.”
On June 15, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) conducted crash testing, using a three-year-old dummy to test the headrest at its highest position in both forward- and rear-facing modes. The test revealed that the headrest could shift during a car crash, creating “a heightened risk of injury,” per the recall announcement.
“The product flexes such that the latch may disengage, allowing the headrest to shift position,” the announcement read. On July 12, Evenflo decided to recall the product due to “the potential for the failure,” the company stated.
The recalled products, all beginning with CS26021, were manufactured between March 2025 and June 2026. The affected models include: Nantucket: CS260212537, Danvers: CS260212538, Chelsea: CS260212539, Holden: CS260212536, Brookline: CS260212521 and Lenox: CS260212522.
Evenflo will reimburse customers who paid to repair the recalled headrest during the Jan. 1, 2025 – Aug. 1, 2026 period. Additionally, impacted owners will receive letters about the safety risk by Aug. 17, with more letters to be sent when the remedy is known.
