Two popular mac and cheese products have been recalled.

Gooder Foods Inc. is recalling several lots of its Goodles mac and cheese products due to “risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction,” according to a company announcement shared with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The affected products include five lots of Vegan Is Believin’ – Plant-Based White Cheddar With Spirals and three lots of Here Comes Truffle – Creamy Truffle Flavored Cheddar and Shells.

The white cheddar mac and cheese — advertised to be vegan and plant-based — may contain undeclared milk, per the FDA. The truffle product, meanwhile, may contain cashew, “which is not listed on the label.”

“Persons who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk and/or cashew may run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” Gooder Foods’ announcement said.

There have been a total of eight reported allergic reactions in connection with the products — two from Vegan Is Believin’ and six from Here Comes Truffle.

“The issue was discovered through consumer feedback,” per the FDA.

The recalled lots were produced between April 7 and April 15, and distributed nationally to wholesale distributors, operators and online retailers between April 29 and Aug. 8.

“The company is recalling the affected product and notifying all distributors, retailers and consumers who may have received the impacted lots,” the statement said.

According to the Goodles website, the brand is sold at major retailers, including Walmart, Target and Kroger. Online retailers are Amazon and Instacart.

Anyone concerned about an allergic reaction is encouraged to contact a healthcare provider.

The lot codes for the Vegan Is Believin’ product, which comes in a 5.25-oz. box, include 09725N, 09825N and 09925N. The best buy dates on the boxes are July 7-11, 2026, with a UPC of 850031990074.

Here Comes Truffle, which is sold in a 6-oz. box, has a lot code of 10125N, 10425N and 10525N. The best buy dates are July 11, July 14 and July 15, 2026, with a UPC of 850031990159.

The UPC and lot codes are located on the outside of the product.

Per Healthline, nuts are a top allergen in the United States that affects about 20 million people. “Symptoms of a nut allergy can range from mild to severe. For some, exposure to even trace amounts of nuts can be life-threatening,” the website states.

Symptoms can include rashes, hives, sore throat, stomach cramps and, in some cases, difficulty breathing and anaphylaxis.

Milk allergies can also cause hives, digestive problems and anaphylaxis, according to Mayo Clinic.

Allergic reactions to nuts and milk typically occur shortly after consumption or exposure. However, nut allergies can strike up to six hours later.
