Pregnant Woman Was Fatally Shot. Her 'Miracle Baby' Was Successfully Delivered but Died Days Later

A Michigan family is mourning after a pregnant woman was fatally shot and her infant, who had been delivered successfully in the aftermath, died days later.

Ashley Williams, 34, was shot at a residence in Flint, Mich., on Tuesday, Feb. 10, MLive, Mid-Michigan NOW and ABC 12 reported, citing police.

She was six months pregnant at the time and died after being taken to the hospital, per ABC 12.

While doctors were able to successfully deliver her baby boy, Isaiah Ryan, the child succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, Feb. 12, Williams' family announced in a GoFundMe.

Isaiah was Ashley's "miracle baby" as she did not think she could get pregnant, her mother Kathy Williams said, per ABC 12.

Ashley's family wrote in the online fundraiser set up initially to raise funds for Isiah's medical expenses that he was put on life support.

The family provided an update Thursday following his death.

"Baby Isaiah put up a good fight, but God chose to have him rest easy with his momma. 2/10/26-2/12/26. 2 days will never be long enough," the page reads.

Kathy told ABC 12 that before the shooting, Ashley had gotten into a car with two men. When she tried to leave, one of them allegedly shot her.

No further details about a motive or suspects were immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing.
