Presley Gerber Was at a Rehab Facility When He Died, According to Medical Examiner

Presley Gerber died in a rehab facility, a medical examiner’s report confirms.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s report, Gerber’s death is listed as Sept. 20 at age 27, but no other information is known at this time.

A representative for Presley’s mother, Cindy Crawford, father, Rande Gerber, and sister, Kaia Gerber, told PEOPLE, “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”

TMZ was first to report the news and reports that an autopsy has yet to be completed. PEOPLE has reached out to the medical examiner for more information but did not immediately hear back.

Presley was the son of model Crawford and Rande, an entrepreneur and businessman. He was also the brother of model and actress Kaia.

Presley — born in Beverly Hills, Calif., in 1999 — was a model himself. He was open about his struggles with mental health and substance abuse.

Presley was charged with a DUI in December 2019. In 2020, he got a tattoo on his face that read, “MISUNDERSTOOD.” A year later, he appeared to have had it removed.

In later years, Gerber began opening up about his mental health. “Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that’s all I need to do,” he said on the Studio 22 podcast.

Presley started sharing “Mental Health Mondays” videos on his Instagram. In one of the videos, posted in 2024, he talked about being in recovery circles and how to find common ground with others.

In a since-deleted Instagram video posted in December 2025, Presley opened up about the several depressant medications he was on, including Buprenorphine, Xanax and Valium, to treat his “panic attacks.”

Presley was last photographed publicly with his parents at the We Are ENOUGH x Aviator Nation launch in Malibu in June. He previously stepped out in Los Angeles with his parents and Kaia in May for her RE/DONE x Kaia Gerber ‘Short/Cuts’ Launch Event.
