  • Prince Harry made an appearance at Game 5 of the NBA Finals in San Antonio on June 13
  • The Duke of Sussex attended the game with U.S. Army veteran JP Lane, who is set to compete in Harry’s Invictus Games in the U.K. next year
  • Prince Harry was already in San Antonio and was invited to attend Game 5 by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver

Prince Harry is in the stands at the biggest NBA game of the year.

The Duke of Sussex, 41, was seen on video arriving at Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks in San Antonio on Saturday, June 13.

As he entered the Frost Bank Center wearing a polo shirt and baseball cap, Harry could be seen with JP Lane.

Lane is a U.S. Army veteran who has competed in the Purple Heart Warrior Games — an adaptive sports competition for wounded, ill and injured service members in the U.S. He is set to compete in the Duke of Sussex's Invictus Games in the U.K. next year, and Harry has credited Lane with inspiring him to create Invictus for wounded, injured and sick military service personnel from around the world.

Harry was already in San Antonio for the Warrior Games, which are set for June 13-20 in the Texas city, and was invited to attend Game 5 by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.

Harry's appearance at the big game comes on the same day that the royal family took part in the annual Trooping the Colour, King Charles' birthday parade, in London.

The King, 77, was joined by family members — including his wife, Queen Camilla, his eldest son and heir, Prince William, who rode horseback in the parade, as well as Kate Middleton and kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — as they watched the Royal Air Force perform a ceremonial flypast.

Harry, who relocated to California with wife Meghan Markle in 2020, was not expected to be in attendance.

The Duke of Sussex, a lifelong sports fan, has previously attended NBA games. In February, he and Meghan, 44, were spotted sitting next to Queen Latifah at the 75th NBA All-Star Game in Inglewood, Calif.

While Harry has yet to share who he's rooting for in Saturday's basketball game, he has worked with Spurs legend David Robinson in the past.

Robinson joined Harry and Meghan in 2018 for a graduation and awards ceremony hosted at Loughborough University by Coach Core, one of the Royal Foundation's programs, where they went head-to-head for a game of netball before presenting some awards, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

The Duke of Sussex has also made appearances at other major sporting events since relocating to the U.S., including the Super Bowl alongside his cousin Princess Eugenie in 2022, the 2025 World Series at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles with Meghan, and the Stockyards Championship Rodeo in Texas in 2022.

The Knicks are aiming to win the NBA championship on Saturday night — a feat they haven’t accomplished in 53 years.

Leading the series 3-1 against the Spurs, the Knicks won on Wednesday, June 10, in last-second fashion, thanks to an OG Anunoby tip-in at the buzzer, sealing the team’s come-from-29-points-behind victory.

In addition to Harry, a number of celebrity basketball fans have made appearances in San Antonio, including Tracy Morgan, John Turturro and Sydney Sweeney, to see possible history unfold at Frost Bank Center.

Only one team has come back from being down 3-1 in the NBA Finals — the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers — as the Spurs embark on their quest to send the series back to New York City for a possible Game 6 on Tuesday, June 16.
