  • Michael Wolfsmith Jr. hasn’t seen his sister, Briana Culberson, in eight years or met some of her kids, he revealed on the July 30 episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County
  • He also said he doesn’t “get along” with Briana’s husband, Ryan Culberson
  • Vicki Gunvalson expressed sadness over her kids living far apart and missing out on family gatherings

Vicki Gunvalson‘s kids haven’t seen each other in a while.

During his first scene back on The Real Housewives of Orange County in the Thursday, July 30, episode, Vicki’s son, Michael Wolfsmith Jr., revealed that he has not seen his sister, Briana Culberson, in eight years and admitted he has yet to meet some of her children.

The relationship between the siblings — whom Vicki, 64, shares with ex-husband Michael Wolfsmith — arose as she broached the topic of Wolfsmith Jr., 41, welcoming children while the mother-son duo dined at a California restaurant.

“I kind of like my selfish life,” he told his mom, who in turn responded, “I couldn’t imagine my life without you and Briana.” Wolfsmith Jr. then revealed that he has not seen sister Briana, 39, “since, like, 8 years.”

“I mean, I haven’t even met two of her kids,” he added of his sister, who has four children. “Not good.”

He later shed more light on the siblings’ relationship on social media, explaining that the physical distance between them — he lives in Spain and travels often, and his sister lives in Oklahoma — does not mean they have no contact.

Sharing additional insight in a series of Instagram comments after reposting a clip of the same RHOC scene, Wolfsmith Jr. said he is in a group chat with Briana and their RHOC star mom, where they “have friendly personal convos.”

He also said he would “prefer” to see her in person and has gotten close to traveling to see Briana and her family. He also said he does not “get along” with her husband, Ryan Culberson, “very well.”

“I was ready to book a flight a couple years ago and it wasn’t the right timing for them,” Wolfsmith Jr. wrote elsewhere of his sister and her husband. “They can come visit CA too when I’m there. I was staying at my mom’s + her desert house for 3 months this year.”

“I’ve never been invited out there, and she doesn’t visit CA,” he explained in another comment. “I was living in Hawaii and now Spain. A couple years ago i said I wanted to visit when i was fairly close to Oklahoma, and she said it wasn’t a good time because of her husband who i don’t get along with very well 🤷‍♂️.”

Vicki, who returned to RHOC for its 20th season, also told her son during their dinner scene in the July 30 episode that “the older I get, what makes me happy is being around my kids.”

Echoing this in a confessional in the same episode, she said that it “absolutely sucks that my kids live far away.”

“They talk all the time. They FaceTime, but it’s definitely better to be in person,” she said of her two adult kids. “And I see some other families have their kids over on Sunday dinner, and I don’t have that, and it’s not what I’d ever planned, but it’s their life, I have to sit back and have a cigarette, and I don’t even smoke.”

Wolfsmith Jr. works remotely for his mom’s insurance company, Coto Insurance & Financial Services, and he spends much of his time traveling. Briana and her husband document their life together, as well as Briana’s “healing journey,” in a joint Instagram account.

After a user brought up the status of his sister’s relationship on Instagram, Wolfsmith Jr. wrote, “I don’t think that was a consideration but it’s not something I would discuss with her either way. They like to keep their life private 👍.”

He also wrote that he’s “pretty unbothered by people’s opinions, but I know it upsets my mom and sister at times. I think they have cared less than in the past though.”

“I like my life,” he added in the same comment. “I don’t really care what some random person who doesn’t know me thinks.”
