Richard Gere is being celebrated in a special birthday tribute from his wife, Alejandra Silva Gere.
Following Gere’s 77th birthday on Monday, Aug. 31, Silva, 43, shared on Instagram a glimpse of how the Pretty Woman actor marked the occasion. One photo showed her and Gere both wearing party hats as they embraced, while their 6-year-old son James ran toward them.
Another snap captured the moment James, who was also wearing a party hat, joined them in a group hug as Gere smiled toward the camera. Silva was seen sitting on a bench alongside two dogs in the third photo.
“No one I rather spend my life with, happy birthday, I love you, we love you 🥰,” she captioned the selection of photos on Sept. 1.
Gere reposted Silva’s post on his Instagram Stories with a jazz rendition of “Happy Birthday” playing in the background.
“I love you,” he wrote over the photos.
It’s unclear from the photos whether anyone else attended the Chicago star’s birthday celebration.
Gere and Silva are also parents to 7-year-old son Alexander, while the actor shares 26-year-old son Homer with his second wife, Carey Lowell. Silva shares a 13-year-old son, Albert, with her ex-husband Govind Friedland.

Last year, Silva marked Gere’s 76th birthday by posting photos on Instagram from a celebration with friends and family at their home in Spain, per HOLA!
She gushed that the actor has been “a constant” despite challenges that their family has experienced.
“…The boys and I feel your love in every moment: the way you show up for us, the patience you bring, the strength you give, and the heart you pour into this family,” she continued in her tribute. “You are everything to us the best husband and the best dad always giving, always helping. Even in the busiest days, you are the center of our little universe, and we are so grateful for you…”

Gere’s 77th birthday comes just days after Homer shared with PEOPLE the greatest advice his father has given him for career success.
“I think something that’s really important that gets lost a lot, because this world can be really all-encompassing, is that to remember to go home from it,” Homer said at the 2026 US Open exhibition match on Aug. 25. “Acting should not be a lifestyle. It should be like a job and then you go home.”
“I think that’s a really healthy mindset that he has, and I think it lends itself to long-term viability and success,” he added.
