Sandra Bullock is spending some quality time with her family.
On Tuesday, Aug. 18, the Practical Magic 2 star, 62, recapped her life lately on Instagram, sharing photos of her enjoying the outdoors with her family and friends. Bullock shared several snaps from her trip, including photos of her taking walks in nature, going on fishing excursions and rafting.
Some of the photos seemingly feature her two kids, son Louis, 16, and daughter Laila, 12, whom she welcomed in her late 40s via adoption. She also tagged her sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, in one of the snaps, and posted another photo where her family visited her parents’ graves.
“Friends, family, fun, fishies, furries, aaaand work,” she captioned the post.
Back in April, Bullock spoke to moderator Julia Boorstin and Warner Bros. co-chair and CEO Pam Abdy at the CNBC Changemakers Summit in New York City about how she prioritizes her role as a mom to her two kids while balancing a busy work schedule.
Speaking about her upcoming film Practical Magic 2, Bullock noted that she was only able to make the movie because she could align her schedule with when her two kids weren’t in school.
“I made this film at this time because I knew my kids were out of school. I’m not going to sacrifice my children’s — my time — with my kids,” she explained. “They’d be happy if I was gone. I would not. It’s true. And I do not do my best work if my children are struggling or if they need something and I can’t facilitate it.”
“I’m raising my children, not anybody else. But I have the luxury of doing that in this business. So many people don’t,” Bullock continued. “And I understand that grief and that angst when you are at work, going, ‘I’m not where I need to be right now. I’m here being performative and doing my job.’ But guess what? Women can do it. We can do 15 things at one time and get it done.”
Although she welcomed her children later in life, the loving mom believes her children came at the perfect time.
“I don’t know why that was the only route, but I’m so glad the universe had me wait,” she said on Red Table Talk in 2022. “Had me wait even though I was anxious and I was eager — and it went nope, you’re not going to do it the way you think you’re going to do it.”

Raising her children has been a major source of pride for Bullock. She considers herself “lucky“ to be able to watch them grow up, and to do that, she’s taken a step back from acting to be with them. Practical Magic 2 marks Bullock’s return to the screen for the first time in four years.
“I’m not retiring, just going to not spend time in front of the camera for a while. I have beautiful babies. I’d rather look at them,” Bullock told PEOPLE (the TV Show!) in 2022. “I’d rather look at them every day and have them be mad at me and annoyed and make memories with them for right now.”
