Shooting at McDonald's Leaves 18-Year-Old Dead and 1 Injured

The 18-year-old victim died from gunshot injuries after being taken to the local hospital

A teen has died after being shot at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania, according to police.

On Monday, May 18, the Allentown Police Department confirmed that an 18-year-old died while hospitalized following a shooting on Friday, May 15, officials said in a press release.

The identity of the victim was not publicly released, though the man was reportedly from Bethlehem, Penn. according to CBS News.

Allentown Police officers responded to Friday’s incident at a McDonald’s located at 1321 Union Boulevard for reports of shots fired at approximately 9:10 p.m. 

The shooting left another person injured, however, their current condition is unknown at this time, per CBS News.

PEOPLE reached out to McDonald’s for comment, but did not immediately receive a response. 

When officers arrived, they found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound. First aid was administered to the victim at the scene before they were transported to a nearby hospital by Allentown EMS.

The victim succumbed to their injuries on Monday, the Allentown Police Department said.

Authorities did not name a suspect or a motive in the shooting, but said the case is under investigation by the Allentown Police Detective Division, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, and the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.

Additionally, the police department said they do not believe there is an active threat to the public at this time.

Police added that there will be no further comment at this time.
