Meri Brown is getting back out there.
On the latest episode of Sister Wives, airing on Sunday, Oct. 5, Meri, 54, embarked on speed dating for the first time in Salt Lake City. Her best friend, Jenn Sullivan, was also in attendance for moral support, even helping prep the former Lizzie’s Heritage Inn owner beforehand.
As the speed rounds commenced, Meri first met with a man named Lee. Unfortunately, sparks did not fly between the two, as Lee gave one-word answers to all of Meri’s questions, making it hard for a genuine conversation to form.
“Maybe I wasn’t asking quite the right question, because there was quite a few times when I’d ask a question and it would just be like an answer a word,” she said. “There was some painful moments for sure.”
Meri then met Jeff, who somehow managed to leave a worse impression than the first suitor. Referencing Meri’s reality TV fame, he began, “I guess you’re the house celebrity, huh?”
They then began talking about their past marriages, with Meri noting how she’s been divorced for two years. To that, Jeff joked, “Married twice, only one at a time,” which was a direct quip at Meri’s polygamist past.
“I don’t like dumb jokes. I mean, I’m a funny person. Like, let’s just put that out there. I’m freaking hilarious,” she then told the cameras. “I mean, a dumb joke has to be a good dumb joke if it’s going to be a good dumb joke. And it has to actually be a joke, not something that has to do with my family structure.”
Fortunately for Meri, things did start to pick up from there.
She ended up having a lot of “fun” speaking to a 37-year-old man named Daniel. However, she informed him, “You could almost be my kid! This is weird!”
“I have a 29-year-old,” said Meri, referencing her child, Leon Brown, with her ex-husband, Kody Brown. “This is what I’m saying. I could almost be your mom.”
Meri then got to meet Ron, and the pair seemed to really hit it off. She was also “impressed” with the way he dressed. “He likes dogs, he likes to travel and he’s six feet tall and he’s handsome, so there’s that,” she told the cameras.
The pair also discussed their love language and favorite spots before time was up. And, speaking separately with the cameras thereafter, Ron raved about Meri.
“I thought she was really, you know, attractive and very nice. She was easy to talk to,” Ron said. “I really liked her eyes. I liked her hair. She has kind of like, has a striking look to her, which is really nice. I thought she was very attentive. She’s a great communicator.”
“When I fill out my survey, I’m definitely going to put Meri down, and I hope to see her again,” he added.
Meri and Jenn regrouped after the speed dating rounds were over, and the reality star had “so many thoughts.”
“Some of them are hard passes,” Meri admitted. “Some of them are really nice to talk to. The youngest kid, like who the heck is he? But he was, like, the easiest to talk to. Ron was really easy to talk to. He was really nice.”
Jenn then revealed about Ron: “I pre-screened him!”
“Did you?” asked Meri.
“Yeah, because he came in late, so I was, like, chatting with him a little bit … You want me to go get his number?” Jenn said as Meri replied, referencing the event’s host, “I think that’s Emily’s job!”
Before leaving, Jenn encouraged Meri to fill out the forms so that possible matches can connect with her thereafter. Meri also told the cameras, “Out of all of the men there, Ron probably would be the only real candidate for me.”

Meri was previously married to Kody, 56, for more than three decades. They were legally married from 1990 to 2014, divorcing on paper so Kody could legally wed Robyn Brown in order for her children to be added to his health insurance. At the time, Kody had also been spiritually married to Janelle Brown and Christine Brown Woolley.
In November 2021, Christine, 53, became the first of Kody’s four wives to leave the family’s polygamist arrangement. Janelle, 56, and Meri followed soon after. He is now only married to Robyn, 46.
