  • Swift recently shared her lifelong love for Toy Story and revealed that she wrote the song inspired by an early screening of the sequel

Taylor Swift was fangirling Tom Hanks and Tim Allen at the Los Angeles premiere of Toy Story 5.

Swift attended the premiere on Tuesday, June 9, wearing a sweet, ff-the-shoulder floral minidress from British fashion house Erdem. However, it was her choice of accessories that really caught fans' attention.

The Mastermind singer, 36, carried an old VHS copy of the original Toy Story movie from 1995 under her arm as she posed on the red carpet. The singer, who is set to wed NFL star Travis Kelce this summer, was later captured having the movie's stars sign it for her.

Hanks later told USA Today about the encounter. Revealing he “did not get a selfie” with Swift, Hanks revealed that instead he “did sign her original VHS of the first story.”

“I told her she should have brought in the VHS machine so that we could have signed it as that could go into the Smithsonian Institute as well," he added with a laugh to the outlet.

The pop superstar's new song “I Knew It, I Knew You” features in Toy Story 5, the new Disney-Pixar animated sequel. The track, which saw Swift reuniting with fellow songwriter Jack Antonoff, marks the first new music she has released since her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, last October.

The track, which dropped on June 5, has become the “all-time record for the biggest soundtrack single” on a release day on Apple Music, per the platform. And Swift surprised fans hours after the track went live by releasing an accompanying music video.

Sharing the cover art for the song in a June 1 Instagram post, the “Shake It Off” star revealed that she wrote it after being inspired by an early Toy Story 5 screening. "I've always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I've adored since I was a 5-year-old kid.”

She added, “Sometimes you just know, right?”

“Creating something for [Toy Story character] Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once,” Swift wrote. “And being a @toystory kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond.”

Directed by franchise writer-director Andrew Stanton, Toy Story 5 sees the return of voice actors Hanks as Woody, Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Tony Hale as Forky and more. Oscar-winning songwriter Randy Newman also returns to the animated franchise with its new installment.

Toy Story 5 opens on June 19.
