Quinton Aaron, star of The Blind Side, is opening up about a stunning discovery regarding his marriage upon waking up from a coma.
In January, the 41-year-old actor collapsed and was hospitalized in Atlanta, where he was placed on life support; his family then confirmed he had suffered a spinal stroke. In a new interview with ABC News, Aaron said that after a four-day coma he learned his wife, Margarita DeLeon, was still legally married to another man.
"The entire time we were together, she told me she had been divorced for 10 plus years,” he said. "She even told the person where we were getting married, 'Oh yes, I have all the documents. I can email over to you the divorce decree.'"

Aaron claimed that doctors removed DeLeon from his hospital room because she could not legally make medical decisions on his behalf. Amid his hospitalization, a lawyer uncovered records proving DeLeon was still married to a man she wed in 1992. She and Aaron married in December 2024.
In an ABC News interview that also aired on Monday, April 20 on Good Morning America, DeLeon disputed Aaron's account, saying she was unaware that her divorce had not been finalized.
"When I told Quinton back in the hospital bed,” she recalled, “I said to him, I said, 'Bibi, this information that your family pulled up on me, you know, I wasn't aware of it.'" DeLeon's husband told ABC News that he also thought their divorce had been properly finalized years ago.

“If I had a chance to do it over,” Aaron told the outlet, “I would have done my due diligence.”
The actor opened up about his road to recovery post-stroke, saying, “I started paying attention to my body because I found out, over the years, it was speaking very disrespectfully to me and I was ignoring it.”
Football biopic The Blind Side starred Aaron alongside an Oscar-winning Sandra Bullock as Michael Oher and Leigh Anne Tuohy, respectively. Aaron has worked consistently in Hollywood projects since, appearing in last year's Experiment 77 and War Dawgz.
