PEOPLE's Dog of the Week Contest Presented by the Halo® brand is here and accepting submissions from May 18-June 5
The PEOPLE ❤️ Pets: Dog of the Week competition, presented in partnership with Halo Collar, is officially here — and it’s ready to celebrate the most adorable, charismatic pups around. This all-new, PEOPLE app-first experience invites dog lovers everywhere to spotlight their furry companions. From everyday cuddle bugs to standout canine personalities, PEOPLE is searching for dogs with star power and a story to match.
This fun community-driven program runs for five weeks and highlights one winning dog each week. Pet parents can submit their pups for a chance to be featured as PEOPLE’s Dog of the Week, complete with a personalized PEOPLE-style cover and playful, custom cover lines created by the editorial team. It’s a chance for beloved pets to step into the spotlight and become true PEOPLE pet stars.
The competition is open to dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages. To enter, participants must submit at least one of their favorite photos of their dog along with a few key details, including their pup’s name and a short caption that captures why their dog is special. Entries should showcase what makes each dog unique — whether it’s their charm, their look or their undeniable “cover-worthy” appeal.
Submissions are open from May 18 through June 5 on the PEOPLE App and People.com, where pet parents can upload their entries through the form below. All eligible submissions will remain in consideration throughout the full contest period, giving every dog the chance to shine across the five weekly themed rounds.
After the submission period closes, PEOPLE editors will review entries and select three standout finalists for each themed week based on creativity, originality, personality, cover appeal and presentation. These finalists will be vetted and verified for eligibility before being featured in the PEOPLE App, where readers can vote for their favorite dog of the week.
Voting will take place from June 16 to July 17 exclusively within the PEOPLE App where each week, fans can cast their votes to help determine which finalist earns the coveted Dog of the Week title. At the end of each voting period, one winning pup will be selected based on reader votes.
Each weekly winner will receive a Halo Collar and be featured as PEOPLE’s Dog of the Week, complete with a custom PEOPLE-style cover that may appear in the app, on People.com, and across PEOPLE’s editorial and promotional channels and platforms.
