Katherine LaNasa says encounters with the ghost of her late ex-husband Dennis Hopper left her shaken for years.
The Pitt star, 59, recalled in a recent interview that Hopper — to whom she was married from 1989 to 1992 — repeatedly appeared to her after his 2010 death.
“I do believe in ghosts,” LaNasa told W Magazine. “The ghost of Dennis Hopper would not leave me alone for a really long time.”
“He visited me first in ways that were scary,” she claimed. “He came one time looking like when he was at the Academy Awards. He was in a wheelchair, and he fell down, and it was super upsetting.”

The actress went on to explain that though she and Hopper had been divorced, she was “the last wife that he’d been with that he wasn’t currently divorcing.”
“So, I think that level of intimacy when you’re dying is maybe only something you can do with a partner,” she said.
After he and LaNasa separated, Hopper married his fifth wife, actress Victoria Duffy, in 1996. He filed for divorce from Duffy about five months before his death.
“He used to come over me in a sweat, and I told him he had to leave me alone, and then he did,” she continued. “And then I felt really weird about it. And then the day that I told someone how weird I felt about it, I walked home an odd way and ran into a gallery that had all of his photographs up.”
“[There was] a photograph of him in the very back of the gallery with a fedora on, winking at the camera,” LaNasa said. “So, I felt like he was letting me go.”

That wasn’t the last time LaNasa said Hopper visited her. She later recalled a dream in which they were both at a cafeteria in Greece.
“He told me that he was okay and that he wasn't in pain anymore, and he was good,” she noted. “And I never heard from him again.”
Later in the interview, LaNasa shared that the two met at a party thrown by Love Boat producer Douglas S. Cramer in Los Angeles during her visit to the city while on tour as a ballerina in the Karole Armitage Ballet.
LaNasa is currently married to actor Grant Show, who has starred on Melrose Place and Dynasty.
The pair, who first met while filming the HBO series Big Love in 2006, wed in August 2012. LaNasa and Show share daughter Eloise, 12.
