Tommy Winkler and his wife Jess are going to be parents!
The TikToker, who is known as “The Food Guy” online, is expecting his first baby with his wife Jess, sharing the news exclusively with PEOPLE. The couple, who tied the knot in June, will welcome their baby at the end of February and found out they were expecting just a day after Tommy’s birthday.
“We actually found out the day after my birthday, June 11,” Tommy, 25, tells PEOPLE. “Jess took a test and we didn’t know if it was going to show up positive so we filmed a video where we showed the camera first then flipped the test and we saw it was positive. It was the craziest feeling.”

Meanwhile, Jess, also 24, shares that she had a “feeling” that the two should take a test.
“I had a feeling that we should take a test so we were looking up when the earliest date would show a positive on the test,” she says. “So we waited for that day and I took it and it was positive! I was expecting it but also not at the same time. It was surreal having confirmation that this was happening and we were so excited. I’m very happy that we looked at the test together instead of me taking it alone.”

Sharing the news with their friends and family was “a lot more” nerve-racking than the two had been expecting, but everyone was “extremely excited” for them.
“I was so excited and nervous to tell my family,” Jess shares. “I knew they were going to be over the moon excited for us and it was so hard to wait to tell them all in person. We told our immediate family and close friends within a month of finding out and it has been so cool to see all the support and love that they have shown already.”

“I was a lot more nervous than I thought I was going to be because I knew people would not be expecting this news so soon after our wedding,” Tommy admits. “But it was a super cool moment because I told my family on Father’s Day. They were extremely excited for Jess and I.”
Jess says it’s been a “pretty difficult” first trimester and has been enduring “continuous nausea and fatigue.” She explains that she hasn’t had any food cravings yet because she struggles to find anything appetizing at the moment.
“I am hopeful that I’ll start to feel better soon so that I can start getting excited for these upcoming months instead of taking it day by day,” she says. “I have never felt more grateful for Tommy than I have these past few months. He has been so helpful and patient with trying to do whatever he can to make me feel better, and it means the world to me.”
“It’s hard seeing Jess in so much discomfort in these first few months,” says Tommy. “Once she starts feeling better and has more cravings, I’m excited to make a video of her eating her pregnancy cravings for the whole day.”

While the two are waiting until October to find out the sex of their baby, they have a sex reveal party scheduled shortly afterwards. They’ve also picked out a few names for both a boy and a girl, but aren’t going to share until their baby is born.
Tommy and Jess say that they are feeling very grateful to become parents and are looking forward to creating new memories together.
“I am feeling extremely blessed and excited to be a father. Each day that goes by I am getting more and more excited,” Tommy said. “I don’t feel nervous at all because I’ll have Jess by my side and I know she’s going to be an amazing mother. It’s going to be so fun to add another member to our daily lives and to travel with.”
“I am so excited for what’s to come once the baby is born and we get to experience life through a whole new set of eyes,” Jess said. “Me and Tommy have felt ready for this next step for a while and feel like we have done everything together just the two of us and are so excited and prepared for this next chapter.”
She added, “We truly are the best team and I am so confident in our partnership that we will just have the best time together with our new addition.”
