Both Alice and Fey's younger daughter, 14-year-old Penelope, tried their hand at acting as kids

Tina Fey's elder daughter might be following her mom into comedy, and the 30 Rock star has shared what she thinks about it.
Fey, 55, opened up about 20-year-old Alice Richmond's potential career path to writer Damian Holbrook at a HISTORYTalks event on Saturday, April 18, and explained that she has been dabbling in comedy at college.
At the talk, which took place at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia, Holbrook mentioned that Fey's elder daughter has found a passion for comedy.
"I mean, at the college level," she replied, "We'll see how it all shakes out… We had to come up such a different path — who knows?"
She also discussed how children of famous people are often given the "nepo baby" label, joking, "The viewer is still like, 'Nepo baby, yuck.' Not about my kids, but about other people."
Holbrook suggested that Alice could step out on her own and "just do a TikTok and she goes viral," prompting Fey to reply: "I certainly hope not."
Elsewhere in the discussion, Fey told a cute anecdote involving her younger daughter, Penelope Richmond, now 14.
"When [Penelope] was born, it was the end of 30 Rock and I was home a lot more," she explained. "She had a play date over and the kid said, 'Your mom's famous.' And my daughter said, 'She's not famous. She's well known.' "

Both Alice and Penelope tried their hand at filmmaking when they were younger. Appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in 2018, Fey shared a short film, Butt Show, created by the two. "They sold it to Netflix," she joked.
They've both appeared in their mom's shows over the years, too. Alice grew up visiting the set of 30 Rock as a child, and in 2012, she played a young version of Fey's character in a flashback in the episode, "Mazel Tov, Dummies!"
Penelope then appeared in a few episodes of the series Girls5eva, which Fey was an executive producer of, in 2021 and 2022, playing a child influencer. "There was a part for a 9-year-old, and I was like, 'If we don't let her audition for this, she's going to kill us,' " Fey joked on Today in 2021.
