The NFL athlete said his pop star wife’s knowledge of his sport has wowed him through the years

Taylor Swift is constantly impressing her man.
Travis Kelce opened up about how his wife’s football knowledge has evolved throughout their relationship on the Friday, Sept. 18 episode of his and brother Jason Kelce‘s New Heights podcast.
Podcast guest Tom Cruise, who recently joined Swift, 36, in a private box at Arrowhead Stadium to watch Travis’ Kansas City Chiefs, shared that the “Opalite” singer shared her early views on football with him.
“She was telling me about you all’s first date where you were talking about football,” Cruise, 64, shared. “But also what she said, ‘What was it like, you two, like, playing against, like hitting each other?’ ”

Travis, 36, laughed, adding, “Oh, that we were basically out there boxing each other on the field? Like, sweetie, what the heck?”
Swift’s awareness of the game has changed drastically since that first date in 2023.
“Now she knows everything,” Travis said. “She sees the flags coming in. Like, ‘Oh, that might be a defensive hold.’ Like, ‘What’d you say, sweetie?’ She’s like, ‘That’s encroachment.’ I’m like, ‘You know what that is?’ She’s on it now. She got fully engulfed in it.”
Retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason also praised his sister-in-law, saying, “That’s one of the things that was so enjoyable meeting her at the Bills game and seeing how much Tay’s into football. Asking questions, really trying to… and now it’s been a few years since that, so.”
“Oh, she’s in, so far,” Travis said.
Cruise said that Swift was “schooling” him as the plays were being called, adding, “It was awesome.”
“She’s similar to you in terms of, you just want to understand,” Travis told Cruise. “You want to know the knowledge. You want to know the tiny, minute details and you just want the knowledge to be able to understand.”
“Once you understand it — and this is anything in life — once you understand the full gambit of everything that is a part of a show of a part of a team or a part of a sport, it makes it that much more fun to watch because you’re seeing it from a smaller lens and you’re so appreciate of the bigger outcome. That’s why she loves doing the directing her music videos.”

The proud husband added, “From the story to the rhythm to the visual that you’re getting, she just gets engulfed in it and she loves it. And you can tell she loves it just by the outcome.”
Travis and Swift tied the knot on July 3 after three years together.
