Victoria Beckham revealed her husband David Beckham “guilted” her into participating in the Spice Girls reunion in her new self-titled Netflix docuseries.

Victoria, 51, said of joining the 2008 reunion tour, “David was like, ‘it’s really good for the kids to see you do this,'” per The Independent.

“He mum-guilted me!,” Victoria added.

David, 50, jumped in, revealing he encouraged his wife because “Our kids weren’t around to see their mum be a Spice Girl!”

The couple, who tied the knot in 1999, share son Brooklyn, 26, son Romeo, 23, son Cruz, 20, and daughter Harper, 14.

Victoria then spoke about how she felt to be back onstage during the tour. “I hadn’t been Posh Spice for such a long time. It was good to be back with them,” she recalled. The group later reunited again in 2019, but Victoria declined to join them.

“It was good to celebrate the Spice Girls but it was during that [2008] tour that I realized I didn’t belong on stage. It had been fun but it wasn’t what I loved anymore,” Victoria said.

In the years since, Victoria has pursued a career in the fashion world with her namesake brand, ranging from runway to custom designs.

Years later, in a 2024 appearance on Loose Women, fellow Spice Girls member Mel B said in response to questions about another reunion, “Tell me about it … we are definitely doing something.”

“I’m probably going to get told off [for revealing that], but I’ve said it. There you go,” the Sunday Times best-selling author added at the time. “I’m in trouble now.”

In the new docuseries, Victoria said she felt “hurt” by one of Mel B’s comments. “It upset me not too long ago actually – Melanie B said to me ‘don’t forget where you’ve come from,'” Victoria said.

Victoria added, “I have never forgotten where I’ve come from. I have never forgotten that Posh Spice is the reason that I’m sitting here now. She might have been grumpy but she was actually great.”

Former Spice Girls members Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm supported Victoria at the premiere of her self-titled documentary in London on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

Victoria Beckham, the three-part docuseries chronicling Victoria’s personal and career journey, is now streaming on Netflix.
