"Everyone loves [Casey]. My parents adore him," Korda told Access Hollywood after winning the U.S. Women's Open in June 2026. "He's amazing. He's the best support system. He always has my back."
While Korda has made a name for herself on the golf course, Gunderson also comes from an athletic background. He played college football before transitioning into the business world, where he now works for an engineering company.

Gunderson grew up in Sarasota, Fla., with his parents and four siblings.
He attended IMG Academy — a preparatory boarding school and sports training facility in Bradenton, Fla. — where he played football and first crossed paths with Korda.
Although they became friends in high school, their relationship didn't turn romantic until years later, according to Golfweek.
Gunderson played football at Bryant University
Following high school, Gunderson signed with Bryant University to play football.
Though he spent four years with the Bulldogs, he appeared in just four games during his collegiate career, according to his athlete bio.

After graduating from Bryant University in 2018, Gunderson transitioned into the business world.
He currently serves as vice president of Florida Engineering, a company owned and operated by at least one family member, per LinkedIn and the company's website.
They announced their engagement in November 2025
Korda announced the couple's engagement on Instagram in November 2025, captioning a series of photos with Gunderson, "In this life… & the next."
A month later, she told Golfweek that Gunderson had thoughtfully asked her parents, Petr and Regina Korda, for their blessing before proposing — even bringing fruit-filled dumplings for the occasion.
"I've been [married to my] wife for 33 years," Petr told the outlet. "We've been together for close to 40 years. It's what you wish for your kids, going in the same direction."
Following her U.S. Women's Open victory in June 2026, Korda shared more details about the proposal with Access Hollywood, revealing that Gunderson caught her completely by surprise during their beachside engagement.
She also said the custom ring he designed features both of their birthstones embedded in the band.
"It's been an exciting time for sure. Planning a wedding is a lot. It's very stressful," Korda said of the couple's upcoming 2027 nuptials. "We're getting married on the water. It's going to be really pretty."

Gunderson is often by Korda's side at tournaments, including the Mexico Riviera Maya Open in May 2026, where she captured the title.
Despite his athletic background, however, the former college football player hasn't exactly embraced golf.
"I’ve seen his swing twice, and that’s all I needed to see," Korda joked to Golfweek. "No, I’m kidding. He’s very athletic."
Korda went on to praise the balance their relationship provides, explaining that Gunderson helps her leave golf at the course.
"What’s nice about the relationship is that when I’m home, I’m just Nelly. I’m not Nelly the golfer. I’m not talking about golf when I’m home," she said, adding that Gunderson is "the best supporter" of her high-pressure career. "I'm extremely lucky."
