Cate Blanchett has other goals to pursue.
A month after her film Black Bag hit theaters, the actress—who shares kids Dashiell, 23, Roman, 20, Ignatius, 17, and Edith, 10, with husband Andrew Upton—detailed her next career move.
“My family roll their eyes every time I say it, but I mean it,” she told the Radio Times in a print story set to release April 20, via The Standard April 14. “I am serious about giving up acting. [There are] a lot of things I want to do with my life.”
Cate—who has earned two Academy Award wins for The Aviator and Blue Jasmine, respectively, as well as six additional nominations—also admitted that she isn’t so keen on the celebrity parts of her career.
“When you go on a talk show, or even here now, and then you see soundbites of things you’ve said, pulled out and italicized, they sound really loud,” she explained. “I’m not that person.”
