Why Olivia Munn Is No Longer Treating Her Double Mastectomy Scars

Olivia Munn is embracing her scars from her double mastectomy surgery.

Munn, 44, opened up about canceling her laser scar removal appointments and deciding to show off her chest scars while chatting with Access Hollywood at the Unforgettable Evening at the Beverly Hilton.

“Earlier tonight, we were talking about if you can see certain scars through my dress or not,” she said in the social media clip shared on Tuesday, April 29. “You can’t today, but I was telling my makeup artist, ‘You know, ever since I got such an amazing and loving response from the Skims campaign, I stopped doing laser treatment on my scars.’”

Munn, who shared that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2023, continued, “I had all of my appointments and I just canceled all of them.”
She added, ”I think putting it out there and embracing it, and the response from not just the world, but especially the other women who have scars, I’m proud of them. They’re something that I [don’t] want to cover up as much anymore.”

The actress first showed off her scars while posing topless in a Skims campaign in October 2024.

In one snap, Munn wore nothing but black leggings, covering up part of her bust with her arms. She proudly gave fans a glimpse of her scars while donning soft, glowy makeup and wet strands.

In the press release, Munn opened up about the campaign, sharing that she didn’t plan to show any of her scars initially. As she got changed into a second look, she changed her mind.

“It just kind of hit me after she touched up one scar. I was thinking about the first time I saw them and how shocking it was for me. And I thought, ‘You know what? I do look at these scars as proof of how hard I fought,’” she explained.
