The incident was first reported by an island resident, after which a rescue team was dispatched.
Negara added that the recovery effort, which took one-and-a-half hours, was difficult due to high waves at the beach and the cliff’s steep path.

Cronin was stranded on the beach cliff before she fell, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade released a statement obtained by the news outlet that said, “We send our deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time. Owing to our privacy obligations we are unable to provide further comment.”
