Over a dozen fans of The Chainsmokers were hospitalized at one of the duo’s shows in California.

Fourteen individuals who were at the “Closer” hitmakers’ outdoor concert in San Jose on Friday, Sept. 4, were transported to local hospitals both during and after the show, according to police and the San Jose Fire Department (SJFD).

At least 10 people were taken to the hospital within the final 30 minutes of the show, police told ABC 7.

Fire officials responded to the concert held at San Jose’s Discovery Meadow at 8:22 p.m. local time following “reports of multiple patients requiring medical attention” and quickly called for additional support, the SJFD said on X.

The patients were hospitalized due to a variety of medical concerns, including “suspected alcohol intoxication and drug-related issues,” NBC Bay Area reported, citing police.

ABC 7 Eyewitness News also reported that “several people are recovering from alcohol or drug problems that took place” at the San Jose venue.

Paramedics treated some people at Discovery Meadow and continued as the concert ended, ABC 7 reported, citing authorities.

Fire officials said a total of 14 ambulances responded to the scene at Discovery Meadow. Footage shared by ABC 7 shows a long line of ambulances and a fire truck outside of the venue.

Patients were seemingly cleared from the scene within about two hours, as the SJFD stated on X that all fire department resources returned to service at approximately 10:34 p.m.
