Dakota Fanning and Elle Fanning are adding Emmy nominations to their family’s accomplishments.
On Wednesday, July 8, the Watchers actress, 32, expressed her pride via social media after both she and her younger sister, 28, were announced as nominees for the 78th Emmy Awards.
“What an unbelievable morning for my family,” Dakota began as the lengthy caption to an Instagram photo of herself and her sibling twinning as they sat together, posing for a portrait.

“The pride I feel at watching my sister shine is hard to put into words, and I also could not be prouder to be partners with her in Lewellen Pictures,” she continued, also thanking “the entire team behind Margo’s Got Money Troubles” who “so deserves this recognition.”
Dakota and Elle launched their production company Lewellen Pictures in 2021.
Margo’s Got Money Troubles, which also stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Nicole Kidman, received an Outstanding Comedy Series nomination. Elle was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for the Apple TV show.
The series has eight nominations in total this year.
Dakota, who was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series for her role as Jenny in All Her Fault, said she hoped her character would “be one who women could see themselves in and make them feel less alone.”
After continuing to thank those involved, Dakota concluded, “I am so happy that audiences connected with her so deeply. I’m bursting with happiness. Thank you!!!!!”
“So proud of you both. 🙌❤️,” Pfeiffer, 68, commented. “Congratulations on your nominations!!! So deserved on so many levels 🫶🏽!” Jessica Alba added.
“Fannings! 👏👏👏👏👏👏,” Elizabeth Banks wrote.
Dakota also received some love from her little sister, who commented: “I love my Cody ❤️.”

“We are thrilled to be launching this company together and to be teaming up with MRC who have been excellent partners on ‘The Great.’ Our goal is to tell stories, through comedy and drama, which are authentic to the human experience, and not just from our own perspective,” the sisters said in a joint statement when they announced the launch of Lewellen Pictures.
The pair, who also starred in 2001’s I Am Sam, continued: “We also want to create content that we wouldn’t be able to make just as actors. We can learn so much when we look outside our specific points of view. We have been fortunate to work with many brilliant storytellers and hope to continue that track while also providing opportunities for many more.”

Dakota and Elle are set to play on-screen siblings in the upcoming film adaptation of The Nightingale. The drama follows two sisters living in France who are torn apart at the onset of World War II.
Mariska Hargitay is set to host the 78th Emmy Awards, which will broadcast live on Monday, Sept. 14, from 8 to 11 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
