Rev your engines: Keanu Reeves has entered the world of professional motorcycle racing.
The actor, 61, and custom bike builder Gard Hollinger, founders of ARCH Motorcycle, are putting their bikes to the test in the Samsung TV Plus docuseries Hooligans: The ARCH Racing Project. It follows the friends and business partners as their company competes in the Super Hooligan National Championship. The streamer premiered the first of six episodes on July 12.
Reeves, who co-founded ARCH Motorcycle in 2011 out of a lifelong passion for motorcycles, tells PEOPLE that partnering with Hollinger was an easy decision. “Gard built an amazing custom motorcycle, and when I rode it, I was like ‘That needs to be in the world,’ ” he recalls.

He adds, “I love riding motorcycles, telling stories and being part of something. All of that happened in a beautiful way with ARCH Motorcycles.”
Through the docuseries, Reeves and Hollinger hope to give viewers a deeper appreciation for motorcycle racing and the people behind the helmets.
“You see an athlete in a suit wearing a helmet, and hopefully this is an opportunity for you to meet the human beings behind it, hear their stories, what they have gone through and how challenging it is to get to that level in the sport,” Hollinger says.
Reeves adds, “It’s about building a team, ambition, vision, creating something you love, sharing it with the world and overcoming challenges. It’s American tradition.”
The pair are happy to see motorsports receiving more mainstream attention, thanks to films like F1 starring Brad Pitt and Javier Bardem. “I enjoyed the movie. I thought there were some great visuals,” Hollinger says.
“What we do is a little more humble,” Reeves adds with a smile. “But I could be the team owner. I’ll be Javier Bardem.”

Reeves and Hollinger believe the themes of motorcycle racing resonate far beyond the track. “The internal wanting to win. Overcoming personal challenges,” the John Wick actor says. “Emotion, in a weird way, is the one thing we can all share. We all have that in common.”
The first episode of Hooligans: The ARCH Racing Project is now available to stream on Samsung TV Plus. New episodes premiere every Sunday through Aug. 16.
