Cher Horowitz is back!
On Thursday, July 30, Paramount+ announced it has greenlit a Clueless sequel event series following the events of Alicia Silverstone‘s iconic 1995 movie.
Per a press release, the series, which will begin production in L.A. next year, will pick up 30 years after Clueless. The show will differ somewhat from the previously announced Peacock sequel series, which was dropped by the streamer earlier this year.
“Beloved Beverly Hills icon Cher Horowitz has figured out a lot: She’s successful in business and has mastered motherhood—that is, until her daughter’s high school years, and Cher finds that parenting a teenager makes her feel ‘clueless’ all over again,” reads the official logline.

Silverstone, 49, will reprise her role and is an executive producer on the series. Amy Heckerling, who wrote and directed Clueless, and producer Robert Lawrence will both return as executive producers.
When the news of the Peacock sequel series was announced in 2025, Silverstone shared the news on Instagram, writing, “Totally buggin’… in the best way 💁♀️✨.”
The actress admitted she had fears about revisiting the character for a follow-up when the scrapped Peacock series was in its early stages.
“I never thought that that was something I would ever do because I wouldn’t wanna mess up this thing that we all love so much,” she told Entertainment Tonight last year. “So we will do our very best to honor the original movie that we love and also bring something new to it.”

Clueless was loosely inspired by Jane Austen’s novel Emma. Along with Silverstone, the film starred Paul Rudd, Stacey Dash, Donald Faison, Brittany Murphy and Dan Hedaya.
