Dermot Mulroney is leaving Chicago Fire.
The actor, who joined the series in 2024 as Battalion Chief Dom Pascal, will be departing the show early in its forthcoming 15th season, Deadline reported, citing sources close to production.
NBC declined to comment on the casting report when reached by PEOPLE.

Mulroney, 62, joined the show to fill the gap in the fire station after Eamonn Walker scaled back his role as Chief Wallace Boden after 12 seasons. In January, PEOPLE confirmed that the actor would be taking a hiatus for the remaining episodes of season 14, with Rob Morgan joining the crew as Battalion Chief Hopkins. Mulroney later returned for the season finale on May 13.
He compared his role on Chicago Fire to a “Christmas gift all year round” during a panel hosted by PEOPLE in December. “I literally joined a family there in Firehouse 51,” he said.
“It’s an incredible group of people, and we know deep into their past, these characters. So me even joining this cast, to see actors that have played that same part for 12 years, to see how they drop into their character, it was something I’d never witnessed,” Mulroney said.
“It’s a very different feel there,” he added. “It’s so seamless and just a brilliant group of actors who’ve lived in the skin of their characters longer than I’ve ever encountered in my work.”
On Wednesday, July 29, PEOPLE confirmed that Joe Miñoso — who has played firefighter Joe Cruz since the show’s 2012 pilot — would also be departing Chicago Fire. He is still expected to appear in several episodes during season 15, which premieres Oct. 7.
Miranda Rae Mayo and Taylor Kinney were confirmed to be returning for season 15 in May. As for Mulroney, he plays a key role on the Netflix drama The Hunting Wives, with its second season currently in production.
Season 15 of Chicago Fire, one-third of the One Chicago universe from Wolf Entertainment, premieres on Oct. 7 on NBC.
