The fan who disrupted Game 1 of the NBA Finals by running onto the court was arrested and now faces two criminal charges, authorities said.
The fan, who is a juvenile and whose name will not be released, rushed the court to take a video with San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama during the fourth quarter of the game against the New York Knicks on Wednesday, June 3.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office confirms to PEOPLE that the juvenile committed two separate offenses, including Disrupting Meeting or Procession by intentionally disrupting a lawful gathering through physical interference.
Additionally, the juvenile “committed the offense of Criminal Trespass by entering property, specifically the basketball court, without the effective consent of the owner, despite having notice that entry onto the court was prohibited,” the sheriff’s office said.
The fan — who seemingly gleefully captured the moment with Wembanyama — and a co-conspirator have received lifetime bans from all arenas, an NBA spokesperson said on Thursday, June 4, according to The Athletic and the Associated Press.

After the game in which the Spurs lost 105-95, Wembanyama shared his perspective about the moment.
“I’ve never been in that situation,” Wembanyama, 22, told reporters after the game. “I didn’t know how to act.”

As for the juvenile, his cinematography skills are likely a work in progress.
In his video that has since gone viral online, Wembanyama’s face does not make it into the frame due to his 7-foot, 4-inch height.
