At 28, Pittsburgh-based creator Chloe Xandria has turned her own confidence journey into a growing platform centered on body acceptance and the belief that self-love does not have to wait for the “perfect” body.
Diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in 2016, she has spent nearly a decade learning how to navigate unpredictable, hormonal body changes while showing her audience that style can evolve alongside them. Through fashion content, candid conversations about body image and a popular series featuring her 53-year-old mother wearing matching outfits, Xandria has created space for women of all ages and sizes to feel seen.
“Style became the way I stopped fighting my body and started working with it,” Xandria tells PEOPLE exclusively.

For years, getting dressed felt emotionally exhausting as PCOS symptoms caused constant fluctuations, particularly in her lower belly, as the hormonal disorder often leads to insulin resistance and the production of androgens, per WebMD.
Xandria tells PEOPLE there was a time when she relied on clothes that allowed her to disappear rather than express herself.
“I used to live in oversized band tees and leggings because that felt like the ‘safe’ option,” she explains. “Over the last decade, I learned my confidence didn’t come from hiding my body, it came from learning how to style it with intention.”
Determined to feel like herself again, Xandria began experimenting with silhouettes and styling techniques that brought her confidence back, gravitating toward waist-defining pieces, structured denim, belts and elevated basics that helped her feel polished while embracing her body as it is each day.

“I’ve learned that body fluctuations are normal. Specifically in my belly,” she highlights. “Some days my belly shows a lot more, and I am ok with that. I remind myself no one is scrutinizing my body the way I am, and that motivates me when I’m getting dressed in the morning.”
Managing her symptoms has also played a major role in Xandria’s health journey, explaining that Metformin has made a significant difference in helping her navigate PCOS. Although some days are still tougher than others, she uses those moments to encourage followers not to postpone confidence until they reach a certain size or ideal version of themselves.
“I always tell people do NOT wait to love your body before dressing it,” Xandria emphasizes. “Buy the clothes that fit now, not the body you’re hoping to have later.”

That perspective has become central to the community Xandria has built online, especially through her “Mom & Me” series.
By posting side-by-side looks with her mother, she challenges the idea that fashion, trends, or confidence belong to younger women alone — and the response, she says, has been deeply personal for both of them.
"My mom always says she 'can’t pull off' certain outfits because they’re 'not flattering' or 'too young' for her," Xandria captioned a now-viral post of her and her mom in identical looks. "But here’s the thing, fashion doesn’t have rules! You’re never too old, too young, too curvy, too soft, or too anything to wear what makes you feel amazing."

Creating content with her mother has not only strengthened her own confidence but has also helped her mother embrace fashion in a new way after years of feeling limited by age expectations.
“My series with my mom and I has taught me that style and confidence do not disappear with age; it just evolves,” Xandria tells PEOPLE.
“Women of all ages deserve to feel beautiful, relevant and confident at every age,” she adds. “Watching my mom embrace her body through fashion has taught me to think less about ‘fixing’ my body and more about celebrating it.”
