Jay-Z is a proud dad!
As the rapper walked the red carpet at Michael Rubin’s Fanatics Fest luncheon on Friday, July 17, he briefly opened up to PEOPLE about his iconic concert at Yankee Stadium — and sharing the stage with his 14-year-old daughter Blue Ivy.
Asked about the moment as a highlight of the night, Jay-Z smiles as he responds, “You said it.”
“That ain’t even a question,” added the Grammy winner, 56, confirming it was quite the special moment.
During his show on Friday, July 10, which is part of his 30th anniversary concert series, Jay-Z brought out his wife, Beyoncé, and their daughter, Blue Ivy, among other guests — including Alicia Keys for “Empire State of Mind.”

The couple sang a rendition of “Can’t Knock the Hustle,” and Beyoncé belted the song while strutting across the stage.
“Oh, she can sing,” Jay-Z said as the song came to an end.
The “Partition” singer added, “Give it up for my baby.”
Then, Blue Ivy, 14, joined him for “Feelin’ It,” and performed the piano solo at the end of the 1996 hit.
“Make some noise for the legendary Blue Ivy Carter,” he said, before they shared a long embrace.
In March, Jay-Z told GQ that Blue Ivy is a “crazy pianist.”
“She won’t let us get her a teacher. She doesn’t want it to be a job. But she has perfect pitch. If she hears a song, she’ll be like ‘Play it again’ and then she’ll teach herself,” the rap icon said.

“That’s just talent. She doesn’t work at that. She worked at this, and it makes me proud that she fought for something that she really wanted to do,” he continued. “I don’t think we’re going to be able to get her off that stage now.”
Blue Ivy’s performance wasn’t her first time joining a parent on stage. In 2023, she joined her mom on the Renaissance World Tour and then again on the Cowboy Carter Tour in 2025.
For the latest tour, Blue Ivy danced alongside her mom throughout the three-hour concert for 32 shows over three months — and a viral dance to Beyoncé’s 2006 hit “Déjà Vu” that fans affectionately referred to as “Dèjà Blue.”
